Tattoo Appointment Guide
Booking your tattoo appointment with us is easy—and taking a few simple steps beforehand helps make the entire process smooth, clear, and stress-free for both you and your artist. At Monarch Tattoo Hawaii, we want every client to feel prepared and confident before starting their tattoo journey. Whether you’re planning a small piece or large custom project , here’s everything you need to know about booking your tattoo appointment with our studio.
Step 1: Visit Our Website
Start by visiting monarchtattoohawaii.com to submit your tattoo appointment request.
If you’re reading this in our Tattoo Guide, you’re already halfway there.
When filling out your inquiry form, please answer every question and be as detailed as possible. The more information you provide—such as placement, size, style, inspiration, reference photos, and overall vision—the better we can match you with the right artist and prepare for your project. Clear communication helps us create the best possible tattoo experience from the very beginning.
Step 2: In-Person Consultations for Larger Projects
If you're requesting a larger tattoo, sleeve, cover-up, or custom large-scale project, we may ask you to come into the shop for an in-person consultation. This gives your artist the opportunity to:
better understand your vision
discuss placement an sizing
review reference ideas
answer questions about the process
plan your tattoo session properly
Some projects simply work better face-to-face, and consultations help ensure everyone is on the same page before your appointment day.
Step 3: Secure Your Appointment with a Deposit
To officially book your tattoo appointment, we require a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit.
Your deposit goes toward the final cost of your tattoo and helps reserve your appointment time with your artist. This allows your artist to prepare properly for your session and confirms that you're ready to move forward with your project. We can send your deposit through a secure credit card invoice, or you're always welcome to stop by the tattoo shop in person.
Step 4: Understanding the Design Process
Many of the tattoos we create are designed directly on the body using freehand techniques. Because of this, we may not always have a completed drawing ready for you to review before your appointment. This is a normal part of our creative process and allows your tattoo to flow naturally with your body, creating a more custom and personal result. Trust, collaboration, and strong communication between artist and client are a huge part of creating great work.
Questions? We’re Happy to Help
We know getting a tattoo can come with a lot of questions, and we’re always happy to help guide you through the process. Whether it’s your first tattoo or your next large-scale project, our goal is to make the experience comfortable, professional, and exciting from start to finish. If you have any questions about booking your tattoo appointment, feel free to reach out. We look forward to working with you.
